Downstream processing

Downstream processing of printed materials is an important step in the production process.

This calls for very exact and careful work. That is why we use the latest generation of a computer-controlled cutting and milling plotter from Zünd – the 3 XL 3000 – for cutting operations as it cuts the printed material to a predefined size with millimetre accuracy as it leaves the 3.2 m wide rollers.

After cutting, the lanes of material are joined together to create complete images.

Depending on the material, this is done either by means of a HF welding machine – used for tarps and netting, for instance - or a 24 m long assembly table big enough to accommodate even the largest formats; textile images are usually stitched together.

The edges are then either reinforced or seamed and adapted for installation by fitting flat welts, eyelets, loops, hook-and-loop material or twist locks.
